Given info : The magnetic moment of a short magnet is 8 Am².

To find : the magnetic induction at a point 20 cm away on equatorial line from its midpoint is ...

solution : magnetic induction due to a short magnet on equatorial line from midpoint is given by, B = μ₀/4π × M/r³

here μ₀ = 4π × 10^-7 T m/A

magnetic moment, M = 8 Am²

distance of observation point to midpoint of the short magnet, r = 20 cm = 0.2 m

now, B = (4π × 10^-7)/4π × 8/(0.2)³

= 10^-7 × 8/(8 × 10¯³)

= 10¯⁴ T

Therefore the magnetic induction is 10¯⁴ T .
