answer : angle between 9N and 12N is 90°

given, the magnitude of resultant of two forces 9N and 12N is 15N

using formula,

R = √{A² + B² + 2ABcosθ}

where angle between A and B is θ.

here A = 9N , B = 12 N and R = 15N

15 = √{9² + 12² + 2 × 9 × 12 cosθ}

⇒15² = 9² + 12² + 216cosθ

⇒225 = 81 + 144 + 216cosθ

⇒225 - 225 = 216 cosθ

⇒0 = cosθ = cos90°

⇒θ = 90°

hence angle between 9N and 12N is 90°.
