Eklavya was a poor person who wanted to learn archery from Dronacharya but could not afford it since Dronacharya thought only royal family therefore he learned archery by just watching from the bushes. He was better then Arjun which Dronacharya didn’t like and asked his thumb as guru dakshina, which he obliged. It was wrong on Dronacharya part since he punished a better archer just because of his ego.
