The main “constituent of biogas” is (a) methane.

Biogas is one of the best type of fuel that is produced under “anaerobic conditions” by the anaerobic digestion of waste materials.

The major component of biogas is methane gas that is present in 55-70% of total composition of biogas.

Some other gases are also found in biogas such as ‘carbon dioxide’, ‘hydrogen sulphide’, ‘ammonia gas’, etc.

Out of all these gases, carbon dioxide is found as 2nd major component of biogas.
