The main difference between a prokaryotic cell and a eukaryotic cell is-
- the cell wall of prokaryotic cell is made up of muramic acid and the eukaryotic cell wall is made up of cellulose.
- a prokaryotic cell do not contain well defined cytoplasmic organelles. while the eukaryotic cell contain well defined cytoplasmic organelles.
- the ribozome number of prokaryotic cell is (50S+30S) 70S .the ribozome number of eukaryotic cell is (60S+40S) 80S.
Differences between prokaryotic type of cell and eukaryotic are:
1. Prokaryotic type of cell do not have nucleus which is membrane bounded. But, eukaryotic kind of cell has a nucleus which is surrounded by a membrane.
2. Prokaryotic cell is a kind of unicellular, that is, a single cell. Whereas, the eukaryotic cell is multicellular kind of cell.
3. Prokaryotic cell lack the organelles that are surrounded by a membrane like golgi bodies, mitochondria, nucleus, etc. While, eukaryotic kind of cell possess all these organelles.
4. The ribosome that is present in prokaryotes is 70S and the ribosome present in eukaryotes is 80S.
