Hey friend,

Here's your answer :

The factors influencing the climate of India include :

1. Location : The Tropic of Cancer passes through the middle of the country and Northern India lies in the temperate belt and Southern India in the tropical belt. However, the northern wall of the Himalayas prevents the chilled north winds from entering. As a result, the temperature does not fall over Northern Plains even in winter.

2. Size : : India is a vast country and Southern India lying closer to the equator is warmer than the northern India especially in Winters.

3. Altitude : As the height above the sea level increases, the temperature of the atmosphere decreases. Because of this, the Himalayas and other high mountains have lower temperatures even in summer.

4. Distance from the sea : The oceanic winds have a moderating effect on temperature and the coastal places experience lower range of temperature, both diurnal and seasonal in comparison to places of interior or continental location away from the oceanic influence.

Hope this helps!!!!
