The lacteals help absorb from food passing through the Small intestine. The lacteals absorb fats that is already emulsified by intestinal, pancreatic, and liver secretions to from chylomicrons (fat molecules surrounded by transport proteins). The emulsified fat combines with the lymph carried by the lacteals to form a milky - white liquid called 'chyle'.
