hey,

here is your answer,

India is relatively backward. By this, I mean:

1,Average income/net worth of an Indian is smaller than that of a person from an average developed country.

Average education level is lower.

Average entertainment avenues are limited in comparison.

Now, the major reasons:

2,Population. Somehow, the land is more livable because of more favorable climate conditions which is a major reason to have a bigger population density for such a huge piece of geography. Here, people have to fight for basic things which leaves in the clutches of more primate urges and not leave them enough time to ponder and prosper. There are way too many people to be moved to lay a road and start a production facility. There’s far less resources per head which explains a lot.

3,A template of development was already laid ahead of Indians by the developed world. We now have to walk the same beaten path, do the same things, hit the same targets to be considered forward. For example, having a big supply of hydrocarbon was considered one of things to have ‘made it’ which India didn’t happen to have. We instead had solar resource which we didn’t care to develop until very recently. If we had thought about what we had in abundance rather than try to import what other people had in abundance and we didn’t we would’ve made long strides in solar power much before Europeans did.

People of India hasn’t gone through a great deal of hardship such as major modern day wars which temper people and set them up to do things otherwise impossible. This is the reason why we are far behind in sports especially adventure sports.

4,Indians are bad at measuring things. Now, this is as much as a manifestation of backwardness as it is a cause. This can be just counted against a manifestation alone calling it educational backwardness. But its much deeper than that. People don’t see the point. A good example is when people take pride that Indians ‘invented’ zero. It was just a concept, not a development, and is as good as any other myth is. We didn’t develop any modern day technological products, we think its somebody else’s job. We are a country full of software engineers, yet there isn’t one .com website that has come out of India that is global. Our government websites look like a school project from 1998, so much for a country full of software engineers.
