Answer:

The major reasons for poverty in India are as follows:-

Explanation:

Lack of Job Opportunities

  • People get educated, but do not get chances to well-paid jobs. As a result, they need to survive through drastic financial conditions.

Increasing Population

  • India has witnessed a huge rise in its population in the recent years. This affects the distribution of consumption goods and services among people. It leaves many neglected, thus resulting in poverty

Increase in Prices

  • Poor people are becoming more poorer as prices of essential commodities (oil, wheat, vegetables) are rising. Although it may benefit higher sections of society, the poor still remain affected and experience poverty.

Unequal Distribution Of Income

  • Simply increasing production or checking on population does not help. We need to distribute equal amounts of income among people. Government can reduce inequality of income and check concentration of wealth by pursuing stable monetary and price policies.

Provision for minimum requirements of the poor

  • The Government should take care of minimum requirements of the poor like safe drinking water, essential food supplies, daily requirements (oil, coal, gas cylinders) , primary Healthcare and education . The public segment should take care of the minimum requirements of the poor

Hope this helps you :)
