There may be people who wish to contest or participate in elections but may not be able due to lack of resources . The influential people also prevent them from winning elections. As a result weaker sections may not be represented in the parliament. Thus reserve constituencies help to resolve this problem by involving every section to contest and win elections.

Answer:
Reserved constituencies were created by the constitution makers because they were worried that in an open electoral competition, certain weaker sections do not stand a good chance to get elected to the Lok Sabha and the state Legislative Assemblies. They may not have the required resources, education and contacts to contest and win elections.
