Well, I suggest that none of the mentioned points are correct.

The reason was that both Marathas and British had stretched it into a long drawn armed - struggle. Marathas were leaded by Mahadji Sindhiya and Nana Phadnavis. They decided that the war should end as it's expenses were getting out of the hands , economy was depleting and also  the risk of losing thier territories. British also on thier part were ready to make a treaty. Even succesfull Generals like  Gordard were defeated.Marathas entered the treaty because of depleting econmy, lack of army, lack of food .
