The marked price and the cost price of a watch are in the ratio 4:3. The discount percentage offered before it was sold and the profit/loss percentage made on it is in the ratio 3:4. Find the profit/loss percentage.​

Answer:

CP:MP = 2x:3x

⇒ profit = MP- CP = 3x-2x=x

Profit % : discount % = 3:2

Let CP= 200, SP = 300

But 1003x×200+1002x×300=6x+6x=12x

⇒12x=100

⇒x=8.33%

∴ Discount = 2x= 16.66%
