Answer:

List price =Rs.18000

Discount=20% of 18000=10020×18000=Rs.3600

T.V price after discount=18000−3600=Rs.14400

Off season discount=10% of 14400=10010×14400=1440

T.V Price after off season discount=14400−1440=Rs.12960

(1)The amount of sales tax the customer has to pay=10%  of  12960

⇒10010×12960=Rs.1296

Given: Marked price of a colour television = Rs 18000

Discount applied = 8%

Sales tax levied = 10%

To find: The final price to be paid by the customer for the coloured television

Solution: M.P = Rs 18000

Cost of the television after discount is applied

= Rs 18000 (1 - 8/100)

= Rs 18000 × 92/100

= Rs (180 × 92)

Cost of the television after sales tax is levied

= Rs 180 × 92 × (1 + 10/100)

= Rs 180 × 92 × 11/10

= Rs 18 × 92 × 11

= Rs 18216

Therefore, the final price to be paid by the customer for the coloured television = Rs 18216.

Answer: Rs 18216
