the marked price of a radio was rs 5000. what will be price of the radio if 10%vat was levied after allowing 15% discount on it

Mp of the radio = rs. 5000

➡Discount % = 15%

Discount = D% / 100 × MP

Discount = 15 / 100 × 5000 = rs. 750

Price will be = 5000 - 750 = 4250


Now , 10 % VAT was added.

VAT = 10%
VAT = VAT % / 100 × MP
VAT = 10/100 × 4250
VAT = 42.5 RS.

Price after allowing discount :
= 4250 - 42.5
= Rs. 4207.5
