Given :

  • Marked Price (M.P) = 270
  • Selling Price (S.P) = 237.60

To Find :

  • Rate of Discount

Solution :

Method 1 :

In this question, Marked Price and Selling Price are given and we have to find the discount% . So firstly we will find the discount in rupees after that we will apply the formula of discount%.

Finding Discount :

  • Discount = M.P - S.P
  • Discount = 270 - 237.60
  • Discount = ₹ 32.4

Finding Discount% :

  • Discount% = Discount/M.P × 100
  • Discount% = 32.4/270 × 100
  • Discount% = 32.4/27 × 10
  • Discount% = 32.4 × 10/27
  • Discount% = 324/27
  • Discount% = 12%

Method 2 :

In this method, we will simply apply the formula.

Finding Discount% :

  • Discount% = (M.P - S.P/M.P) × 100
  • Discount% = (270 - 237.60/270) × 100
  • Discount% = (32.4/270) × 100
  • Discount% = 0.12 × 100
  • Discount% = 12%

Therefore :

  • Discount% is 12%
