Given

  • Marked price of shirt = Rs.940
  • Rate of discount = 15%

To find

  • Discount
  • Selling price

Solution

As we know that

→ Discount = Marked price × discount % /100

→ Discount = 15/100 × 940 = Rs.141

Hence,

Selling price = Marked price - Discount

Selling price = 940 - 141 = Rs.799

Hence,

  • Discount = Rs.141
  • Seling price = Rs.799

Solution :

Given :

  • Marked price of a shirt, (M.P) = Rs.940
  • The shopkeeper allows discount = 15%

To find :

  • The discount & the selling price of the shirt.

Explanation :

We know that formula of the discount for Marked price :

Discount = (Discount%/100) × M.P.

Discount = 15/100 × 940

Discount = 15/10 × 94

Discount = 1410 / 10

Discount = Rs.141

&

We know that formula of the selling price (S.P) for Marked price :

Selling Price = [Marked price - Discount]

Selling Price = Rs.940 - Rs.141

Selling Price = Rs.799
