The marked price of a shirt was rupees 165 and it was sold at a discount of 12% find the discount allowed on the shirt and its selling price

selling price = 165*88/100 =145.2
discount = 165*12/100= 19.8

First take out the value :- 12% of 100%
12/100 = 0.12 --------(i)
multiply the result by orignal price :-
= (i) × 165
= 0.12 × 165
Discount = 19.8 -----------(ii)

Selling Price = M.P - Discount
= 165 - (ii)
= 165 - 19.8
Selling Price = 145.2
