Answer: Rs1170

Given,

Cost of toy = 1800rs

Successive discounts = 20% + 15%

Selling price = ?

First we have to get know about the total discount on toy,

Total discount = 20+15

                       = 35%

We get the total discount of a toy.

Discount = 35% of 1800

=>            \frac{35}{100} * 1800 \\\\\\\=> 630 \\

According to question, we have to find out the Total selling price.

Therefore,

Total selling price = Marked price - Discount

                              = 1800 - 630

Total selling price = 1170

Therefore, Selling price of a toy is Rs 1170

Explanation:

In this question, The marked price and 2 Discounts were given. We have to find out the Selling price of the toy. First, we find out the Total discount. Which we get as a 35%. After that, we get the 35% discount of 1800 rs.

We get 630rs as a discount price. And lastly, we subtract Discount price from marked price. We get 1800 - 630 = 1170.

Answer :

Rs 1170

Step By Step Explanation :

Given :

Marked Price of a toy = Rs 1800

Successive discounts = 20% and 15 %

To Find: Selling Price of toy

Now,

Total Discount = 20% + 15%

                        ⇒ 35%

Again,

Discount Amount = 35% of Rs 1800

                             ⇒ 35/100 × Rs 1800

                             ⇒ 35 × Rs 18

                             ⇒ Rs 630

Finally,

Selling Price = Marked Price - Discount

                     ⇒ Rs 1800 - Rs 630

                     ⇒ Rs 1170

Hence, The Selling Price (S.P) of the toy was Rs 1170.
