  • Discount = 25% .

To Find :-

  • The net selling price = ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • SP = MP * (100 - Discount%) / 100 .

putting given values we get,

→ SP = 500 * (100 - 25) / 100

→ SP = (500 * 75) / 100

→ SP = 5 * 75

→ SP = Rs.375 (Ans.)

Hence, The net selling price of the article will be Rs.375 .

Method 2) :-

→ MP = Rs.500

→ Discount = 25% => 25% of MP = (25 * 500)/100 = Rs.125 .

then,

→ SP = MP - Discount = 500 - 125 = Rs.375 (Ans.)

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the marked price of an article is Rs.500.

It is sold at a discount of 25%

So discount amount

 \displaystyle \sf{ =Rs. \:  \: 500 \times  \frac{25}{100}  }
