Answer:

Given : Philip bought two books from the market for Rs 260.

Let the cost of one book be Rs x.

Cost of other book = Rs (x + 20)

According to the question :

=> x + 20 + x = 260

=> 2x = 260 - 20

=> x = 240/2 = 120

Therefore,

Cost of one book = Rs x = Rs 120

Cost of other book = Rs (20 + x) = Rs (20 + 120) = Rs 140
