How we got this selling price.

Solution :-

Convert two successive discounts into a single discount.

$\sf{\implies (r _1 + r _2 - \frac{r _1.r _2 }{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies ( 15 + 8 - \frac{15 \times 8}{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies ( 23 - \frac{120 }{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies (23 - 1.2 = 21.8 )}$

Now we know that the discount is 21.8%

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: Marked \: price \times (1 - \frac{discount}{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: 15450 \times (1 - \frac{21.8}{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: 15450 \times ( \frac{100 - 21.8 }{100} )}$

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: 15450 \times ( \frac{78.2}{100} ) }$

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: 15450 \times 0.782 }$

$\sf{\implies Selling \: price \: = \: 12,081.9}$

Hence selling price is 12,018.9
