Given:

Marks obtained by two students are in ratio 3 : 5

Suppose that the marks obtained by the first student be 3x and the marks obtained by the second student be 5x.

Given that the product of there marks is 85.5 so,

\longmapsto\sf 3x + 5x = 85.5 \\ \\ \longmapsto\sf 8x = 85.5 \\ \\ \longmapsto\sf x = \frac{85.5}{8} \\ \\ \longmapsto\sf x = 10.68

The marks obtained by the first student

 \sf \: = 3x \\ \\ \sf = 3 \times 10.68 \\ \\ = \sf \: 32.04

The marks obtained by the second student

  \sf \: = 5x \\ \\ = \sf 5 \times 10.68 \\ \\ \sf = 53.4

Therefore the other student get 53.4 marks
