Here is the answer
Let the marks scored by Ramesh be 'x'.
Let the marks scored by Suresh be 'y'.
According to the condition,
Marks of Ramesh = 8 + 2 [ Marks of Suresh ]
![\therefore x = 8 + 2y \therefore x = 8 + 2y](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=+%5Ctherefore+x+%3D+8+%2B+2y)
![x - 8 - 2y = 0 x - 8 - 2y = 0](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=x+-+8+-+2y+%3D+0)
Hence ,
The required linear equation is
x - 8 - 2y = 0 or x = 8 + 2y.

It can be done by two methods:-
Method 1:--
Let Suresh's marks be X and Ramesh's marks be y.
ATQ:-
Ramesh's marks=8+2(Suresh's marks)
y=2x+8
Method 2:-
Let the total marks scored be y and he marks scored by Suresh be X.
ATQ:-:-
Ramesh's marks+Suresh's marks=total
2x+8+x=y
I would suggest you to do it by method 1.
