Given:-

  • Mass of Body = 32g = 0.032kg

  • Acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s²

To Find:-

  • The weight of the body in moon.

Formulae used:-

  • w = mg

where,

  • W = weight

  • m = Mass

  • g = Acceleration due to gravity.

How to Solve?.

  • As we know that w = mg, using this we will find the weight of body on earth.

  • using another concept i.e, the weight of the object is 1/6th the weight of object on earth.

Now,

→ w = mg

→ w = 0.032 × 10

→ w = 3.2N.

Hence, The Weight of a body on the earth is 3.2N

Therefore,

→ weight on moon = 1/6(weight on earth)

→ weight on moon = 1/6 × 3.2

→ weight on moon = 0.53N.

Hence, The weight of body on the surface of moon is 0.53N.
