The mass of an empty density bottle is 21.8
when filled completely with water it is 41.8
and when filled completely with liquid it is
40-6 g. Find:
(a) the volume of density bottle
(b) the relative density of liquid.
Ans: (a) 20 mL, (b) 0.94

Answer:

[A] = 20 , [B] = 1.0295

Explanation:

Density of density bottle is 1

[A] Volume= Density×Mass

                  =1×(41.8-21.8)................................(Density of water is 1)

                  =20

[B] Relative Volume = (mass×density of liquid - mass×density of bottle)

                           20  = 40.6×ρ - 21.8

                 20 + 21.8 = 40.6ρ

                       40.6ρ = 41.8

                               ρ = 41.8/40.6

                               ρ = 1.0295
