Answer:

a. 20cm^3

b. 0.94

Explanation:

The mass of bottle when empty= 21.8g

The mass of bottle when water filled= 41.8g

Mass of water filled= (41.8-21.8)g=20g

Volume (V) =?

(a)

Density of water = 1g/ cm^3

=> Mass/Density= Volume

=> 20/1= V

=> V= 20cm^3 (Ans.)

(b)

Mass of other liquid=( 40.6-21.8)g=18.8g

Density of the liquid = 18.8g/20cm^3

=0.94 g/cm^3

Relative density= density of liquid/density of reference liquid

=0.94/1= 0.94 (Ans.) [Ratios have no unit]
