The mass of an empty density bottle is 22 g, when filled completely with water it is 50 g, and when completely with another liquid it is 54 g. Find the following

1/ the volume of the density bottle.

2/ the relative density of the liquid to density of water.

Hi there,

◇ Given

● Mass of empty bottle = 22g

● Mass of bottle with water = 50g

● Mass of bottle with brine sol = 54g

♤ Mass of water = 50-20=30g

☆ Density of water =1

♤ So the volume is water = 30 cm3

♤ So the volume of bottle = 30 cm3

♤ So the volume of brine sol. = 30 cm3

☆ Density = mass ÷ volume

♤ So the density of brine solution is

♤ M÷V= 54 ÷ 30 = 1.8 g/cm3
