The mass of an iron piece is 17.5g. when it is immersed into a measuring cylinder ,the water level rises from 20 ml to 40ml.calculate:
(I). the volume of the iron piece

(ii). the density of iron in kg/m3​

Volume is =20cm cube

1ml of water occupies 1cm cube space. Thus 20 ml will take 20 cm cube

Density=Mass/volume

Thus D=17.5/20

=0.875g/cm cube.

In kg / m cube=875 kg/m cube

(1 g/cm cube = 1000kg/ m cube)
