it's weight on earth will be mg=8×10
=80 N (taking g=10m/s^2)
on moon surface g becomes g/6
so weight on moon will be 8×10/6

Given:

  • Mass of object = 8 kg.

To find:

  • Weight of object on earth and moon ?

Calculation:

  • Gravitational acceleration on the surface of the earth (g) = 9.8 m/s².

Now, we know that gravity on moon = ⅙ (gravity on earth surface)

  • Gravitational acceleration on moon = ⅙ × 9.8 = 1.63 m/s².

So, weight on earth surface :

W_{earth} = 8 \times 9.8 = 78.4 \: N

Now, weight on moon :

W_{moon} = 8 \times 1.63 = 13.04 \: N

So, weight on moon is 13.04 N and on earth is 78.4 N.
