Given data : The mass of bag A is 3/4 Kg. Bag A is the heaviest the difference between the masses of bag A and bag B is 7/12 Kg. Bag B is the lightest, the difference between the masses of bag B and bag C is 1/6 kg.

To find : What is the mass of bag C ?

Solution : Here,

  • Mass of bag A = 3/4 kg
  • Mass of bag B = ?

A/C to given data; difference between the masses of bag A and Bag B Is 7/12 Kg.

Hence,

➜ Mass bag A - (Mass bag B) = 7/12

➜ 3/4 - (Mass bag B) = 7/12

➜ - (Mass bag B) = 7/12 - 3/4

➜ - (Mass bag B) = 7/12 - 36/12

➜ - (Mass bag B) = (7 - 9/12

➜ - (Mass bag B) = - 2/12

➜ Mass bag B = 1/6 kg

Now, a/c to given data; Bag B is the lightest, the difference between the masses of bag B and bag C is 1/6 kg.

So we know that, mass of bag C is greater than mass of bag B

Hence;

➜ Mass of bag C - Mass of bag B = 1/6

➜ Mass of bag C - 1/6 = 1/6

➜ Mass of bag C = 1/6 + 1/6

➜ Mass of bag C = 2/6

➜ Mass of bag C = 1/3 kg

Answer : Hence, the mass of bag C is 1/3 kg.
