Given :

Mass of flywheel , m = 3250 kg .

Radius of gyration , r = 1 m .

Torque in engine , \tau=4500\ N-m .

To Find :

The angular acceleration (rad/s^2) of the flywheel .

Solution :

We know , torque is given by :

\tau=mr^2\alpha\\\\\alpha=\dfrac{\tau}{mr^2}

Putting all given value in above equation , we get :

\alpha=\dfrac{4500}{3250\times 1^2}\\\\\alpha=1.38\ rad/s^2

Therefore , angular acceleration of the flywheel is 1.38\ rad/s^2 .
