The mass of NaCl is 1.461 grams.

Given - Volume and molarity

Find - Mass

Solution - Molarity is calculated by the formula -

Molarity = number of moles of solute × 1000/volume of solution

Further, number of moles can be calculated by the formula -

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

As we know, molar mass of NaCl is 58.44 gram/moles

So, finding number of moles

Number of moles = mass/58.44

Now, keep the values in formula to find the value of molarity.

Molarity =  \frac{mass \times 1000}{58.44 \times  500}

Performing Division

0.05 =  \frac{2 × mass}{58.44}

2 × Mass = 0.05 × 58.44

2 × Mass = 2.922

Mass =  \frac{2.922}{2}

Mass = 1.461 grams

Hence, 1.461 grams is present in 500 ml of 0.05 M NaCl solution.
