The mass of planet Jupiter is 1.9 × 10^27 kg and that of the sun is 1.99 × 10^30 kg. The mean distance of the Jupiter from the sun is 7.8 × 10¹¹ m. Calculate the gravitational force which the sun exerts on Jupiter.

Here,

M= 1.99 × 10^30 kg,

m= 1.9 × 10^27 kg,

r= 7.8 × 10¹¹ m,

G= 6.67 × 10^-11 Nm²/kg²

We know that,

F= GMm/r²

Therefore,

F= 6.67 × 10^-11 × 1.99 × 10^30 × 1.9 × 10^27/ (7.8 × 10¹¹)²

F= 4.145 × 10²³ N. [Gravitational force exerted by the Sun on Jupiter]

Hope it helps...:-)
