Given:

Mass of body on moon is 40 kg

To find :

Weight of body on earth = ?

Solution:

Mass never changes according to change in place. It always remain constant. Thus, mass of body is 40 kg on earth too

 \\ \\ Weight = mg \\ \\ = 40 \times 9.8 \: - - > (g = 9.8) \\ \\ = 392 \: newton

Required answer:

Therefore, weight of body on earth is 392 N

Knowledge booster:

# Weight of a body is the gravitational force exerted on it by the earth.

# When we stand on the floor, the floor exerts normal reaction on us equal to our weight.Due to that we feel our weight

# If we are an astronaut, we do not feel weight as satellite does not provide normal reaction on the astronaut. Thus, astronaut feels weightlessness.
