explanation : Let us consider that atomic mass of monovalent metal is M g/mol.

then, chemical formula of metal carbonate is M_2CO_3

and molecular weight = (2M + 60) g/mol

mass percentage of O in compound = 3 × atomic mass of O/molecular mas of O × 100

or, 48% = 3 × 16/(2M + 60) × 100

or, 48/100 = 48/(2M + 60)

or, 100 = 2M + 60

or, M = 20 g/mol.

hence atomic mass of metal is 20g/mol.
