Answer:

x = 5 m y =1.25m

Explanation:

According to the problem the parabolic equation of the bowl is

y = x^2/10

differentiating both side we get

dy/dx = 2x/20

let mew s be the static friction

let the θ be the angle at the repose mode

mew s = tanθ

 mew s = dy/dx

mew s    = 2x/20

mew s  = x/10

x  = 10 x mew s

x = 10 x 0.5

  = 5 m

Therefore y = 5^2/20 = 1.25

Answer:

Explanation:

Given parabolic equation is y=x^2/10

Diff w. r. t x

dy/dx=2x/10

dy/dx=x/5=slope=tan teta

For angle of repose

Mew s = tan teta

0.5=x/5

X=2.5

Y=(2.5) ^2/10

Y=0.625cm

Y=6.25m
