As it is given that n = 4 , it means that principal quantum number is 4 and l values vary from ( 0 to n-1) i.e. 0 to 3 .So, it can be concluded that there are s, p, d and f subshells in 4th shell. ml values varies from -l to +l. ml value is also zero. Maximum number of electrons in 4d subshell with m_{l} = -1 are 2.
