If n=4, azimutal quantum no. l can have the valves l=3(f),2(d),1(p),0(s) orbitals, 

For a given l,m=+l to −l

∴ When lm=+1,  l(f),2(d),(1(p).

∴3 of them have same m=+1 . A given no. of m represents an orbital & an orbital contains 2e−s.

∴ Total number of electrons in atom that can have n=4 m=+1 are 3×2=6.
