Maximum range occurs when angle of projection Ф = 45 deg
sin Ф = cos Ф = 1/ √2

time of flight = 2 u sin Ф / g  = 2 u / √2 g = √2 u / g

R = u cos Ф * time of flight = u  / √2    *  √2 u / g  = u² / g
u = √ (Rg)
Time of flight = √(2 R/g)
