the maximum range of a gun on horizontal terrain is 16km. If g=1/s2, what must be the muzzle velocity of the shell?​

Answer:

Horizontal Range R=  \frac{u^{2}sin 2θ}{g}

For maximum horizontal range θ=45°  

or, R^{max} =  \frac{u^{2} }{g}​   ; where u is the muzzle velocity of the shell  

∴1600m=  \frac{u^{2} }{10 m/s^{2} }

 

∴u=400m/s
