Explanation:

Maximum speed = 120 km/hr

Average speed = distancetravelled / timeinterval

400km / 8hr = 50 m/hr

Ration = maximumspeed / averagespeed

120km/hr / 50km/hr =2.4

Answer:

Maximum speed of train = 120 km

Average speed of train = 400/8 km

                                       = 50 km

Ratio of average speed to maximum speed = 50 : 120

                                                                         = 5 : 12

Hope it helped..
