Answer:

5:26

Step-by-step explanation:

Let B's income=x

A's income= 70% of B's income

                  = (70/100)*x

                  = 0.7x

A's expenditure= 60% of B's income

                          = (60/100)*x

                          = 0.6x

B's expenditure= 20% less of A's expenditure

                          =(20/100)*0.6x=0.12x

Original exp- 20% less exp=

                           = 0.6x-0.12x=0.48x

Savings of A= A's income- A's exp

                    = 0.7x-0.6x

                    =0.1x

Similary B's Savings= x-0.48x

                                = 0.52x

Now ratio = 0.1x/0.52x

                 = 5/26

                 =  5:26

The ratio of savigs of A and B = 5 : 26

Given :

  • The income of A is 70% of the income of B

  • The expenditure of B is 20% less than the expenditure of A.

  • The expenditure of A is equal to 60% of B's income

To find :

The ratio of savigs of A and B

Solution :

Step 1 of 3 :

Calculate the income of A and B

Let income of B = 100x

Since income of A is 70% of the income of B

∴ Income of A = 70x

Step 2 of 3 :

Calculate expenditure of A and B

The expenditure of A is equal to 60% of B's income

∴ Expenditure of A = 60x

Since expenditure of B is 20% less than the expenditure of A.

∴ Expenditure of B

\displaystyle \sf   = 60x \:  \times  \:  \frac{80}{100}

\displaystyle \sf = 48x

Step 3 of 3 :

Calculate ratio of savigs of A and B

Income of A = 70x

Expenditure of A = 60x

∴ Savings of A = 70x - 60x = 10x

Income of B = 100x

Expenditure of B = 48x

∴ Savings of A = 100x - 48x = 52x

Hence the ratio of savigs of A and B

= 10x : 52x

= 10 : 52

= 5 : 26
