then according to question

 \frac{x}{5}  = 24

or

x = 120

Now it's given that

 \frac{x - y}{4}  = 23

where, y is the age of the fifth player

so

 \frac{120 - y}{4}  = 23

y = 120 - (4 \times 23)

y = 120  \:  -  \: 92

y = 28 \: years

(b)

After 3 years, each player will be 3 years older

so, mean age of these players after 3 years is

 \frac{120 + (3 \times 5)}{5}  = 27 \: years
