you need to find the number of trials and the probability of success at an individual trial . these are given in the equation 3 = np, 2 = np (1-p) this gives 1 - p =2/3 ,p =1/3 and therefore , n = 9

so the probability that the number of success is less than or equal to 2

( 2/3 ) ^9 + 9 (2/3)^8 × ( 1/3 ) + 36(2/3)^7 × (1/3) ^2
