the mean height of 5 students is 158cm, if another student is added to this group the mean height then is 158.4cm, what's the height of the 6th student?

Answer:

given : mean height of 5 students=sum oftheir height/

total no. of students

158=sum of their height/5

= > sum of their height=158×5

=>. sum of their height=790cm

so the sum of 5students height is 790

now,

mean of 6 students height=sum of their height/total no.

of students

158.4. = sum of their height/6

sum of 5 students height + 6 th student heigt=158.4 ×6

790 + 6th students height=950.4

6th student. height=950.4 -790

6th student heigt= 160.4 cm
