Answer:

mean mark of 32 students = 52

→ sum of marks of 32 students / 32 = 52

→ sum of marks of 32 students = 52 x 32

→ sum of marks of 32 students = 1664.

and

mean marks of top 6 = 31

→ sum of marks of top 6 students /6 = 31

→ sum of marks of top 6 students = 31 x 6

→ sum of marks of top 6 students = 186

sum of marks of 26 students = sum of marks of 32 students - sum of marks of 6 top students

→ sum of marks of 26 students = 1664 - 186

→ sum of marks of 26 students = 1478

now we have to find mean marks of 32 - 6 students

→ total other students = 26

let us find mean marks of 26 students

→ mean of other students

= sum of marks of 26 students/26

= 1478/26 = 56.8
