The marks of the seventh student is 61

Step-by-step explanation:

Average = \frac{\text{Sum of all observations}}{\text{No. of observations}}

The mean marks of 7 students are 55

The marks of 6 students are 52,54,55,53,56 ,54

Let the marks of seventh student be x

So, 55 = \frac{52+54+55+53+56+54+x}{7}

55 \times 7 = 52+54+55+53+56+54+x

385=324+x

385-324=x

61=x

Hence the marks of the seventh student is 61
