Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The mean monthly income of three members of a family is ₹8000. another member of the family gets a job, and his monthly salary is ₹10000.

To find :-

What is the mean monthly income of the four earning members of the family?

Solution :-

Given that

The mean monthly income of three members of a family is ₹8000.

We know that

Mean = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

=> 8000 = Sum of the salary of three members / Number of members in the family

=> 8000 = Sum of the salary of three members/3

=>Sum of the salary of three members=8000×3

=>Sum of the salary of three members = 24000

And

Monthly income of the fourth member = ₹10000

Sum of the income of all four members

=> 24000+10000

=> 34000

Mean monthly income of the four members of the family

=>Sum of the income of all four members/4

=> 34000/4

=> 8500

Therefore, Mean income = ₹ 8500

Answer:-

Concept : Mean

Formula :

Mean = sum of all observations/total no.of. observations

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so, when in that Family three members has got Job their total salary.

⇒ Sum of the salary of three members = 8000 x 3

⇒ Sum of the salary of three members = 24,000

when, fourth member got Job.

⇒ Sum of Salary of 4 members = 24,000 + 10,000

⇒ Sum of Salary of 4 members = 34,000

and, Finding Mean of 4 member's Salaries.

⇒ 34,000/4

⇒ ₹8,500

∴ The Mean Monthly income of the Four Earning members of the Family is 8,500
