Then number of female employees is 500-x

Mean of 500 employees salary is 5000

Total salary of 500 employees is 500*5000=2500000

Total salary of employees = Total salary of male employees+Total salary of female employees

Total salary of male employees=5200*x=5200x

Total salary of female employees=4200*(500-x)

2500000=5200x+4200*(500-x)

=5200x+2100000-4200x

2500000-2100000=1000x

400000=1000x

x=400000/1000 =400

Therefore, number of male employees=400
