mean = sum of observation / total number of observation
=> 55 = sum of 10 numbers / 10
sum of 10 number = 550
now ,
let the exclude number be " X "
mean = sum of 10 number - x / 9
50 × 9 = 550 - X
=> 450 = 550 - X
=> x =100
hence , the number excluded is 100
